Beau's long time friend, Judy is getting married, and she asked for our help with the design services, and obviously, we couldn't be happier! We tossed around a few ideas and decided on a few things: Victorian Lilac for the font color for the names, a simple, elegant design, and a simple rose drawing. I think Beau did an excellent job executing all of these requests.
We just received the invite the other day, and it look amazing in person. We did not do the printing so we don't have the specs, but it looks like she went with a felt weave texture for the paper. I love it!

There was a moment in time when I thought for SURE that Mest was going to end up moving in with us in 25 years when we're all 50ish after she gave up looking for love. This may seem like a dig, but I don't mean it like that at ALL. Megan is wonderful and has SO MUCH to offer, but for some reason she just wasn't meeting the right guy (their loss). Well..that all changed when she met Chris, her now-finacee. Not to be weird, but Chris is the bomb.com (yeah, I said it). He's great for Megan: thoughtful, kind, funny,...and he's helping us with our back yard! We're so happy for the both of them. If you're reading, we love y'all!
Now - what do you think about the Save the Date that Beau created? Megan and Beau came up with the idea of creating a postcard instead of making a typical Save the Date (I want to shorten that to "STD", buttt....). Now only would this save a little extra cash by not having to buy envelopes, but it's also a more unique option that we haven't seen too often. The rest of the wedding paper will be more formal, but they decided to keep it fun with the Save the Date.

How much do you hate me for not posting the "after" pictures from the desk I've been working on...as promised in yesterday? I tried finishing it last night, but I'm just not loving the outcome, so I'm going to do a little more work tonight.
Now - for today's post. This is a mock up of an invite for a "Friendsgiving" dinner party. I know we're no where near Thanksgiving, but I wanted to share this with you now to give you some ideas for upcoming parties you may be having: Easter, Summer, Graduation, Birthday, etc.
This is a completely custom design, and I am in love with it. I think these types of invites (where it's a lot of text in different fonts) are super fun, exciting, and vibrant.

Do you remember these Save the Dates? Well this weekend, Elizabeth and Miles finally tied the knot! We had the honor of designing almost all of the paper for the wedding: save the dates, invitations, RSVP cards, etc., etc. This post is about all that said paper!
The three pictures directly above are from the rehearsal dinner invitation. The envelope liner (the pigs) is one of my favorite parts. They're becoming more and more popular, and they're a great way to add personality to your stationary or invites. We'll be posting tomorrow about the rehearsal dinner, but just know for now that it was spectacular. Really, "spectacular" is applicable for the whole wedding. I was so proud of Beau - everyone loved the wedding paper design!
And here you have everything else. What do you think?! Tasteful, formal, elegant, and wonderful. I'm running out of adjective to use for this wedding, and I think the paper products reflect the overall theme perfectly. I wish I could take more credit for the designs, but I cannot - this was 100% Beau's creative genius (while channeling Elizabeth's specifications). Speaking of the bride - we couldn't have asked for a better client. If you're reading this and know Elizabeth, you'll know what I'm talking about, but her decisiveness is almost intoxicating. I want to be just like her...unfortunately, I still take nine minutes to choose a toothbrush! The point is, she knew exactly what she wanted, and Beau just made it come to life.
We love both Elizabeth and Miles so much, and we're so happy we were able to design her wedding paper. We love you - CHEERS!

This is a one-of-a-kind invitation Mended Nest invitation created by Beau. The request was for a fun and funky, Louisiana style invite for a Happy Hour/get-together before weekend festivities for a couple's wedding. Created from scratch, I think that Beau did an amazing job, but more importantly so did the client!

As Beau and I were scrambling the other night trying to get all of the presents wrapped, we realized that we had no way of differentiating between who the gifts were for. Beau quickly made these cute cards, and I thought they were perfect. I know it's a little late now, but hopefully we'll be a little more organized by NEXT Chirstmas, and we'll be able to sell packs of them with all kinds of different designs.
This is going to be our last post until Tuesday after Christmas. Beau and I are going to be traveling for a few days, and I'm thinking that a little present to myself will be taking Monday off. As you know by now, through The Mended Nest, llc, Beau and I create...pretty much everything under the sun. Repainting furniture, custom invites, photography, and DIY tablet covers are only a few of the things we can now add to our resume. However, custom announcements and invitations are our bread and butter. This was part of the original plan we had for The Mended Nest, and it's something that we still love doing.
Above is an example of a custom Christmas card we were asked to make for our great friend, Lissa Weston. She loved the cards (and we couldn't be happier either). They came out looking great! It's always so much fun to work with Lissa, and we're looking forward to all the work she'll bring our way!

Yet another custom invite from The Mended Nest! I have to say, it has been such a pleasure working with Elizabeth for all of her wedding stationary. In total we'll be working on the save the date, rehearsal dinner invite, shower invite, and the actual wedding Invitation. This, the shower invite, is the most recent project we've tackled. We love it, but more importantly, Elizabeth loves it. This is her custom invite, and Beau and I were simple there to execute it for her.

One of our best friends, Lissa W. has been a huge supporter of The Mended Nest since day one. In fact, working on her Christmas card last year is one of the contributing factors that sparked the whole concept of the blog and company. So far, she's used us for a few invitations, the most recent being for her son, Davis and his friend, Tripp's 10th birthday party. Keeping with a zipline theme, Lissa trusted us enough to pretty much let us do whatever we wanted, and this is the final product. I know Lissa loved it - we hope you do, too!

This custom invite was one of the first official projects of The Mended Nest, llc., and we couldn't be happier with the finished product! We were approached by someone requesting a birthday invite for his boyfriend's 23rd birthday. Along with a few other specifications, the general request was something that wasn't over the top, fairly to the point, with fall inspired colors. I feel like this is exactly that. I LOVE simple, chic invites that aren't too loud, yet still interesting and fun. Check out the paper on the second image. We offer a variety of paper options in terms of color and texture - this one was a white with the linen finish.
