Polos and Pearls
This past Saturday, my friend, Johnny Patrick (Patrick's Fine Jewelry) participated in St. Francisville's Polos and Pearls event. Similar to a While Linen Night or White Light Night, locals and tourists flocked to downtown St. Francisville to enjoy live music, food, and drinks. My friends, Patrick, Ryan, Danielle, Krystal (APOL) and I drove up late Saturday afternoon and ended up enjoying ourselves so much that we stayed much later than I anticipated. I love these kinds of events so if you go next year, you'll definitely see me there!

BRB, Y'all!
Y'all. I mean...
This past weekend, my friends, Johnny and Patrick, and I went on a mini vacation to Houston to visit our friend, Michael (who just moved there a few weeks ago). We. Had. A. Blast. Michael lives in The Heights, a super cute neighborhood right outside of downtown Houston. I didn't even know that there we're areas like this ANYwhere in Texas. I just assumed it all looked like this. Either way - that's beside the point. Part of the reason we chose this weekend to go was because it was the weekend of White Linen Night in The Heights. I'll get to that tomorrow, but first, I want to share about our experience at the BRB (Brazos River Bottom).
Let me just say that this was a gay bar like NONE other. I knew I was walking into a country themed bar, but I didn't imagine anything like what I was getting into. It was a legit cowboy, hey y'all, Wrangler jean and boot wearing, Stetson sporting, 2 stepping', line dancing kind of establishment. And boy do these cowboys not mess around! Michael and I were being
It's so true - it doesn't matter where you are, as long as you're with the right people it'll be a good time. So thank you Michael, Johnny, Patrick, Matt, Taylor, and Matt for a GREAT night out at the BRB!

Let's have a Kiki
This is the title of (and a line from) what has become my friends' summer song. Let's have a Kiki by The Scissor Sisters is one of those feel good, dance-around-to-and-be-stupid kind of songs that can lift you out of ANY bad mood. More than that - it's the BEST song to listen to on the way to the bar. Unless you're going to Bogie's or JL's or something. Then your probably listening to country....or rap? IDK?
So what is a Kiki you ask? Well...
A kiki is a party for calming all your nerves
We're spilling tea and dishing just deserts when they deserve.
And though the sun is rising, few may choose to leave
So shave that lid and will I wear the turn to your own weed
So I hope you're up, girl,
Cause we are all coming over
Lock the doors, lower the blinds
Fire up the smoke machine and put on your heels
Cause I know exactly what we need!
LET"S HAVE A KIKI!
Oh - and how is the picture relevant? I don't know - this is a day time, pool side kiki. Clearly.
