Scarf

Happy Friday, Y'all!

Usually on Fridays I'll take the late shuttle down to Redwood City for work. During the week, II get up at 6:30 in order to make the 7:15 bus, but Fridays are my day of rest and I'll take the late bus in leaving at 9:30. As today is Friday, I was planning on (and really looking forward to) sleeping in, but as I was falling asleep I remembered I have an early meeting today. #theworst

So to make things even better, this is weather I was greeted with as I stepped out of Korey's apartment: cold and humidity. I knew it was supposed to get into the low 70's today, so all I had to keep me warm was my jean jacket and LUCKILY the scarf I threw in my bag last minute. So - obviously jean on jean. I wore my favorite Levi's 511s that I had tailored in the calf for a slimmer fit and paired it with my Clark's Desert Boots and gingham J.Crew shirt

Obviously, I stopped at Philz for a crack coffee pick-me-up and warm-me-up.

Anda Piroshki

Last weekend, I took the 24 down to Bernal Heights to go look at an apartment that I found on Craigslist. Literally it was the worst...unless you like the smell of cat pee and shame. However, even though it's SUPER lezzy, I really enjoyed Bernal Heights as a neighborhood. While I was there, I met up with my boss, Rose (straight) and her puppy for a beer. (we had beer; the puppy had nothing) and we got to have a little one on one time outside of work.

Before I left, I stopped by this little Russian bakery (Anda Piroshki) next door for a hot piroshki! FYI, a piroshki is an individual-sized baked or fried bun stuffed with a variety of fillings. I got ham and cheese and it was so so so good! That plus a slow drip coffee and I was good to go!

Street Car

What is SanFran most know for? The Golden Gate Bridge. And then...? The Painted Ladies! Ugh - okay the THIRD thing that come to mind when they think of SanFran is the streetcar.

To be honest, I've never actually ridden one; I've never had a need. I take the less glamorous Muni, BART, or Caltrain. However, when I visit my friend, Adam, in Castro I like to get a coffee in the morning and watch the streetcars turn around at Castro and Market. I usually don't stay too, too long because a lot of nudists and homeless people (or worse - a combination) like to park it there ("it" meaning their bare asses and shopping carts)

It's pretty cool because SF uses incorporates "Wheels of the World" so you get a glimpse of all different variations of the streetcar. Check it out.

...and don't even with the pants. I was about to go running.
